The tender process of this build, operate, transfer (“BOT”) concession for the Malkara-Çanakkale Motorway Project (including 1915 Çanakkale Bridge) was launched by the General Directorate of Highways (KGM) in October 2016. Project includes construction, operation and transfer of Malkara-Çanakkale Motorway ((including 1915 Çanakkale Bridge) on a BOT basis.
The Overall Project consists in building, operating and maintaining 88 km of interurban dual 3 lanes main carriageway (mainly in Europe), 12 junctions totalling and 1915 Çanakkale Bridge linking Europe and Asia by crossing the Dardanelles with a 4,608m long bridge (including approach ramps). Located approximately 200km from Istanbul, it will be the longest suspension bridge in the world by its length of main span with 2,023m. The Tower Height of 318m also makes it one of the tallest bridges in the world.
There will be built 4 viaducts and 4 Service Areas along the motorway route.
Six toll plazas will allow for toll collection by cash, credit card and ETC (OGS and HGS tag).
Intertoll-Europe ZRt. established a Turkish legal entity (Intertoll Turkey İşletme ve Bakım A.Ş.), which will execute the Operations and Maintenance Sub-Contract Agreement;
